Complaints Procedure
How can I complain about the behaviour of consular staff or the visa application process?
Schengen visa applicants (no third parties!) can submit complaints about the behaviour of consular staff or the visa application process using the contact form. Please select the addressee “Complaint about the Schengen visa procedure” in the contact form. Please note that complaints can only be submitted in German or English; we cannot investigate complaints in languages other than German or English.
Please enter one of the following options in the “Subject” field of the contact form:
- complaint about the behaviour of consular staff
- complaint about the visa application process
We will investigate your complaint as soon as we receive it.
Important note: The complaint contact form cannot be used to lodge appeals against decisions to refuse, cancel or revoke a visa - i.e. in particular no remonstrations.
